In 2025, Ukraine imported 30.8 thousand tonnes of pork, a fifteenfold increase compared to the previous year.
Key reasons include:
- reduction in livestock numbers
- decline in domestic production
- more competitive prices on international markets
At the same time:
- domestic production decreased by around 10%
- demand continues to exceed supply
Conclusion:
Ukraine is becoming increasingly dependent on imported meat raw materials, particularly in the pork segment.
