According to agronews.ua, citing information from the Analytical Department of the Association of Milk Producers and data from the State Statistics Service, from January to October this year, the number of cows in Ukraine decreased by 5.9% compared to the same period last year. Now it is 1,747.9 thousand heads.
Yana Muzychenko, an expert with the Association of Dairy Producers, named the regions with the most significant losses of cows in the industrial and homestead sectors:
- Kherson region - by 17.2% to 50.6 thousand heads;
- Chernihiv - by 13.2% to 86 thousand heads;
- Zaporizhzhya - by 11.8% to 41 thousand heads;
- Mykolayiv - by 11% to 52.7 thousand heads
