Ukraine imports 62% more live cattle from abroad than last year

According to the press service of the Association of Milk Producers, from January to October this year, Ukraine imported 3.4 thousand head of cattle, which is 62% more than in the same period in 2019.

The purchase of cattle cost $ 7.7 million. And this is 71.4% more costs than were spent in the same period in 2019. Among the main exporters of cattle to Ukraine:

  • Denmark - purchased cattle for $ 3.2 million;
  • Hungary - by $ 1.5 million;
  • The Czech Republic - by $ 1.4 million.

 On the other hand, the volume of cattle exports from Ukraine from January to October this year decreased by 29% compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 64.9 thousand heads. In monetary terms, cattle were sold abroad for $ 34.4 million. And this is 24.4% less than in the same period of 2019. Among the main importers of Ukrainian cattle:

  • Uzbekistan - sold for $ 10.3 million;
  • Lebanon - by $ 6.4 million;
  • Azerbaijan - by $ 4 million.
