Excluding the territory of temporary occupation (Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions) and the zone of environmental protection in Ukraine over the past year, the number of cattle decreased by 6.7% (data for August 1, 2019-2020). This result was announced by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
During this period, the number of cows fell by 6.3% and currently stands at 1.78 million.
Accordingly, the number of pigs is 6.12 million, which is 4.4% less than last year. The number of sheep and goats on August 1, 2020 is 1.45 million individuals, which means a decline in livestock by 6.2%.
The smallest, but also the reduction is seen in the poultry population, which decreased by 3.4% and today I count 248.8 million.
