According to the results of the first half of 2020, the export of meat in monetary terms decreased compared to January-June 2019 to $ 319 million.
This information was shared by Mykola Puhachev – deputy director of the NSC "Institute of Agrarian Economics", the press service reports.
He reports that this moment is the only negative result in the last five years.
Likewise, during the first half of 2020, most of the meat products - 15% - are bought up thanks to Saudi Arabia, it occupies a leading position in the ranking among suppliers of meat products.
Other countries, that import Ukrainian meat: the Netherlands (14.2%), the UAE (11.1%), Belarus (6.3%), Azerbaijan (5.8%), Iraq (4.6%), and Kazakhstan (4,%).
Since mid-winter 2020, the EU has intermittently limited the ability to import poultry from Ukraine due to possible outbreaks of bird flu, the expert noted.
