The live weight of a pig became cheaper during February.
This phenomenon is traditional, seasonal. But during the last week of February, there was a certain revival in the pork market. Pig Association of Ukraine reported that there was a noticeable increase in the price of this product.
This week the average cost of live weight of pig is 42,70 UAH per kilogram.
The price increased by 5.4% comparing with the last week. Experts explain that, such a positive trend is related to the activation of the market on the eve of the long March weekend.
However, there was a decrease in pressure from imported meat, but competition with poultry meat increased.
Processors and manufacturers look forward to further price increases in the first half of March.
