As it was announced by the Ukrainian statistics service, at the end of this summer the production of meat products in the country, compared with the same period last year, increased by 9.7% (23 thousand tons). The production of meat products as of 01.08.19 amounted to 259 thousand tons.
At the same time, many Ukrainsans reduced their meat consumption foe different reasons and replaced it with potatoes.
In August, live weight production increased by five thousand tons, or 2% compared with the previous month. In addition, from January to August 2019, in comparison with the same period of 2018, the output of meat products increased by 131 thousand tons (6.5%,) and amounted to 2145.6 thousand tons.
According to the statistical service, the leading position in the production of meat products in August were Kharkov, Chernihiv, Vinnitsa and their regions.
As it was previously reported in the media, Ukraine occupies a leading position in the world in the sale of chicken.
