The State Fiscal Service reported that exports of Ukrainian cheeses for the period from January to June 2019 amounted to almost 3 thousand tons ($ 40.4 million) and decreased by 8.6% compared to the same period of last year. Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstan and Moldova have been the main buyers of this dairy product (33% of exports and more than $ 3 million each), and also actively purchases Ukrainian cheese Egypt (16%, $ 1.7 million).
Traditionally, imports of cheese into Ukraine are higher than exports. The State Customs Service reports that in the first five months of this year, 7.2 thousand tons of these dairy products were imported to the amount of $ 33.4 million. USA. This is 22.4% more than in the same period of 2018 (5.5 thousand tons worth USD 23.4 million).
