There are fewer cattle in Ukraine

The State Statistics Service of Ukraine reports that in the beginning of June 2019, the cattle population in our country decreased by 3.9% compared to the same period last year. This figure is currently 3, 7 million, while in 2018 it was 3, 89 million.

Since the beginning of 2019 there has been a decrease in the number of cattle in all regions of our country, except Vinnytsia and Luhansk. The number of livestock decreased the most in the past year in Transcarpathia, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

In the agro-industry, the decrease was 5.2%. Last year, there were 1.9 million heads of cattle. The largest share of cattle livestock is concentrated in 6 regions: Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv region.

In the first 5 months of this year, livestock numbers decreased by 3.4%. Currently, there are 2.6 million heads, compared to 2.7 million last year in terms of population decline - Lviv, Kherson and Odesa regions.
