So often mentioned for 2016, the abbreviation for ASF –it`s a highly pathogenic virus that infects pigs and is accompanied by fever, cyanosis and other symptoms.
In 2016 the virus was "cut" in most cases farmers or family farms. Unfortunately, the owners of the houses belonged to the security issue not serious, this is the result of regular outbreaks of ASF in Ukraine. The handicraft cultivation method, content, even slaughter and cutting of pigs led to the fact that in 2016 it was recorded 70 foci of the virus.
The detection of new infected farms in 2017 continues. So in March ,this year, ASF was recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Zaporizhia and Vinnytsia regions. In Ivano-Frankivsk and Kiev region, disease and death of pigs happened in small farms. According to the state foods and consumer service, carried out actions to contain ASF and prevent its spread.
In the Zaporizhye region, in the village Rozivka, the diagnosis of ASF pigs delivered to the personal economy of the inhabitants. According to the press service of Zaporizhzhya regional state administration, established veterinary quarantine stations for monitoring transported goods, in order to prevent contamination of other farms.
In Vinnitsa region after the detection of the virus, was conducted a number of activities on liquidation of consequences: killed 25 pigs, disinfect the room, and at the border area, where the economy has suffered virus established veterinary quarantine stations.
In addition to the events of March, in the year 2017 has already recorded 33 outbreaks of ASF, and in 39 regions without stopping apply quarantine measures. As stated by the Chairman of Cerebroprotective Volodymyr Lapa, losses from the disease in Ukraine has already passed over 200 million UAH starting with 2012.
